Nokia Shows Off Sociable, Spendy Smartphone

Nokia has revealed the newest member of its N line of smartphones, the N97. Going up against popular handsets from rivals like Apple and Research In Motion, the N97 emphasizes Web browsing and mobile social networking features. However, its high asking price and the fact that top-line Nokias aren't often subsidized by carriers may hinder adoption in the U.SNokia (NYSE: NOK) unveiled its latest smartphone in Barcelona, Spain, on Tuesday at the Nokia World 2008 conference. The N97, set for release in the first half of 2009, could challenge high-profile mobile devices such as Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone, Research In Motion's (Nasdaq: RIMM) Storm and T-Mobile's G1 for a share of the smartphone market.(Haskins, 2008)

I am dissapointed that Nokia (cellphone masters) didn't do something besides the touchscreen thing, but they believe they could innovate on what apple has done an so do I.Lets face it, Nokia are the grandadies of cellphones, they have been doing this for years, ask your dad his first cellphone was most probably a nokia. The only thing is that the high-end nokias are usually never backed up by carriers (no discouns) , so  700-800 dollars is the only price could get them at,but this price reduces within two or three months.
