Amazon Burns Through Meager Kindle Supply

Online retailer Amazon has run out of Kindle e-book readers and won't be able to fulfill orders until well after the holidays. The device's sales were likely juiced by an endorsement from Oprah Winfrey. However, those who simply must have an e-book reader before 2009 have other options. Is it finally e-books' time to shine? If last year's runaway success of Amazon.com's (Nasdaq: AMZN) Kindle e-book reader didn't surprise anyone, how about this year's continuing momentum? The US$359 Kindle is out of stock again, and it probably won't be back in time to fill anyone's stockings this holiday season.(Maxcer, 2008)

The kindle is a very simple device that is only able to read books, yet it has outsold all other similar but slghtly improved products by it's competitors. This is due to the fact that it has over 400,000 books available on the online amazon bookstore, and  Oprah has mentioned it as one of her favorite gagets. I my self don't read books as often (at all) as other people, but im sure if i got one these i'll read some harrypotter or whatever kids are reading these days (cough, cough twilight).
