A report in the Sunday Times that Microsoft Corp is in talks with Yahoo Inc to buy the U.S internet company's online search business for $20 billion is "total fiction," according to a key executive cited by an influential U.S. blog. The Sunday Times, which did not cite its sources, said the proposal under discussion involves a complex transaction that would see the U.S. software giant support a new management team to take control of Yahoo.Yahoo spokesman Brad Williams said: "We don't comment on rumors, and all this is is a rumor."(O'Brien, 2008)
Iv'e been following this story about microsoft buying out yahoo for a long time,and seriously I thought this thing was done and done.For me this was the only way to stop Google(even though i dont mind).I mean think about it, yahoo and microsoft;sounds unstopable doesn't?I even made up names for the new conglomarate; yahoosoft,microyahoo,softyahoo,yahoomicro or even just mYcrosoft.
